Answer
How do I keep track of versions of a real estate model?
Save a model at any point, compare any two versions line by line, and restore an earlier one. Each save becomes V1, V2 and so on, Save as… names a new lineage, and the Compare view lists every changed variable with its IRR impact and who made the change.
Answer
What does CRE Build record when a deal changes?
Every version is saved, compared and restorable; each changed line shows who changed it, the day and why, and the deal's Activity log records what happened, by whom and when. Each line keeps its latest note, so saved versions are the record of earlier states.

What you do with it
Every version you save, kept
Save model and Save as…
Save model commits a version (V1, V2 …). Save as a named lineage; each lineage numbers its own versions.
Compare, make primary, restore
Compare From and To, with Variable, IRR impact and Who columns. Mark the primary version and add a note to any model, or Restore any version.

Open… a saved model
Open any saved model onto your desk, listed by lineage.

Earlier versions inside a deal
Copy an earlier version, Branch from a saved version, and Make this the base case.

FAQ
Questions
Can I make an older version the primary one?
Yes. In Versions you can make any version primary, add a note on it, or restore it.
What is the difference between a version and a scenario case?
A version is a saved state of the whole model. A scenario case tests a different set of assumptions inside the deal, starting from an earlier version: Copy an earlier version, Branch from a saved version, or Make this the base case.
Can I copy a whole deal?
Yes. Duplicate copies the deal, its scenarios and its deviation notes into a new deal that starts at V1.
